CURRICULUM

Springboard academy believes education is for life and not for passing the grade 10th examinations. So the curricula, the pedagogical practices and the wide choice of subjects offered are such that children are competent, qualified and productive human resource of tomorrow’s workplace.

Children are given the space and democratic set up to enable them to develop the power of introspection and the belief that freedom comes with a responsibility, that 'I am responsible for the choices I make, the decisions I take and the actions I get involved in'.

The curriculum is designed to meet the various stages of child development and is inspired by the frame work of Waldorf Education.

Waldorf Education is found to mould children into morally and socially conscious individuals. The collaborative learning methodology of the Waldorf system makes possible complete articulation of an evolutionary developmental K-12 curriculum.

Waldorf or Rudolf Steiner Education is based on the understanding of the human being as, that is, as a being of body, soul and spirit. The educational method of Rudolf Steiner thus is based on the thought that the whole person has to be touched by educational process. The Waldorf teaching method emphasizes the role of the arts and the inner life. The art is taught do develop the sense of independence through the creative skills. In the Waldorf early childhood education emphasizes the oral language and reading and writing are not formally taught in the early years.
